Clever things make people feel stupid, and unexpected things make them feel scared.

An Ode To My Flip Phone

You, my dependable flip phone, never let me down.
The pictures you take are unrecognizable. It would take 30 seconds to type a three-word text message. And, flip phone, I love you.
I see people stuck in the rat race of cell-phone upgrades. And you have stayed by my side (literally) through it all.
While Rogers or Bell has asked/demanded that many people upgrade their phones, I have been able to resist for nearly 4 years, thanks to your durability and grace.
A truly stressed out fan watches last night’s games. It’s only hockey, amigo.
One of the last pics I took from my El Salvador trip. Some colourful gates lining the streets.
Another one for the collection.
Burnout
I’m not growing up, I’m just burning out.
I fixed it! No, wait, the opposite.
I love the view without that building across from Confederation Park.
What I presume Game Of Thrones is like
I have never seen Game Of Thrones, but I do have a twitter account. From tidbits of commentary and off-the-cuff remarks, I have created a scene that might appear in the show based on my random encounters with fans of the program. Am I close?

Messenger of Landholdion: Greetings, King of Regionalia! My King sends his tidings in this time of war.
King of Regionalia: Your King is a fool! His incompetence has allowed the hoards from the north to invade unmolested!
Messenger of Landholdion: But… my King left the north unprotected as your virgin daughter was meant to marry the viking prince to reinforce our defences to the north!
King of Regionalia: My daughter shall never give her hand to viking scum!
Data Puking, Killer Master Ninjas, & “The Big O”
Social media is not based on faith anymore. You shouldn’t do social because you have faith it will be benefit your company. You should do social because it delivers economic value to your business. And the only way to discover whether it does or not is by looking at the data and drawing conclusions from it.
Damn straight.
Three great movies in one poster.
The impulse to perfection cannot exist where the definition of perfection is the arbitrary decision of authority. That which is born in loneliness and from the heart cannot be defended against the judgment of a committee of sycophants.
Going to there soon.
Harley and I went for a walk last week and I took some photos. Look at all the ice and snow. This was last week in Ottawa. Now it’s 10 degrees celsius. The weather swings are crazy.
